Hi Esetraviezo,
It depends how many or what type of Windows 10 Pro product keys do you have. The only free product keys are the OEM keys which came pre-installed when you bought a computer.
There are 3 types of product keys (also called as Windows Licenses).
- When you bought a new computer, the operating system was already activated or pre-installed on it. Your product key will be called as an Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) key. This will be owned by this computer only and cannot be used to activate other devices.
- If you want to have a Retail version product key, you will need to purchase the Windows 10 software itselffrom the actual store (This comes included inside the box).
- The Volume keys are the only ones that can be activated on multiple computers. These are the product keys that were mostly used in corporate and business settings.
You need to determine which one do you have. If you only have one Retail or OEM product key, you can only activate this on one computer. This means that you cannot use a same product key to activate Windows to other computers. To know what Windows edition you are using, follow these steps:
- Press Windows + X.
- Click Windows PowerShell (admin).
- Type this command: slmgr.vbs /dli
- Check if which of the three above is your license.
Let us know if you need more help.

When manually installing Windows 7 from the retail or volume license (VL) media on an HP Z workstation configured with LSI SAS controller and two or more hard drives, as described in the SCOPE section, the Windows installer may be unable to detect RAID array.
Simplex Truesite Workstation Installation
The user will be unable to install to the RAID array if the RAID array has member disks on port 0 or port 1 on the LSI 2308 or LSI 9212-4i SAS controller. When the user is presented with where to install Windows 7, the disks will not appear as an option.
HP Preinstalled or Restored Windows 7 image does not have this issue. This issue only appears if the user is attempting to install to a RAID array when the member disks are on port 0 or port 1 of the SAS controller. Direct attach disks will appear and the user will be able to complete the installation to direct attach drives. |
